Change Agent provides powerful built-in web search capabilities that allow you to access current, fully-cited information directly within the platform. Our web search function leverages Google Search and other tools to deliver curated, synthesized summaries of the information you need, complete with proper citations and source verification.
Step 1: Identify When Web Search is Active
You'll know Change Agent is performing a live web search (rather than relying solely on training data) when you see explicit notifications in the chat interface. The system will indicate when it's running Google News searches or other search queries to gather current information for your request.
Step 2: Formulate Your Search Query
Craft specific, focused prompts to get the best results. For example:
"Search the web for the most recent information about minimum wage in California and provide fully cited sources with links."
"Find the latest data on voter turnout in Cobb County for the last three elections."
Step 3: Review Search Results and Citations
Once Change Agent completes its searches, it will provide you with:
A synthesized summary of the information found
Inline citations throughout the response that correspond to specific claims
A list of all sources cited at the end of the response
Step 4: Verify Source Links
For quality assurance and accuracy, it's important to:
Click on the provided links to verify they are valid and current
Check that the sources are reliable (e.g., CalMatters for California-specific information)
Open source links to confirm the data matches what's summarized
Step 5: Request Additional Formatting (Optional)
You can ask Change Agent to reformat the information for better presentation. For example, after receiving search results, you can request:
"Now summarize this information into a table format"
"Create bullet points from this data"
