Change Agent provides values-aligned AI to mission-driven organizations. We listen to our clients and build features that support your movement work. One of our clients requested a non-Google web search option, and we delivered. Now you can activate DuckDuckGo as your default search engine for privacy-focused, unbiased research without tracking or personalization.
Step 1: Access the Tools Menu
On the left-hand side of your screen, click on the "Tools" menu. You will see that three tools are enabled by default, including Web Search. You can identify active tools by the purple highlight next to them.
Step 2: Locate Web Search
Scroll through the available tools until you find "Web Search." Alternatively, you can use the search bar at the top of the Tools menu to quickly find Web Search by typing it in.
Step 3: Open Tool Settings
Once you have located Web Search, click on "Tool Settings." This will open the configuration options for your web search functionality.
Step 4: Change Your Default Search Engine
In the Tool Settings menu, you will see a default search engine option. Currently, it may be set to Google. Click on this option and type in "DuckDuckGo" in place of Google. Then click "Save" to confirm your selection.
Step 5: Verify Your Search is Working
Perform a test search to confirm DuckDuckGo is now your active search engine. Be sure to start your search with the instructions "Search in DuckDuckGo for..." and then the rest of your prompt. Change Agent will show you what it is doing as it completes your search. You can click on the action and expand the dropdown arrow to see detailed information about the search process.
