Change Agent allows you to connect your Asana project management directly within the platform. This means you can ask Change Agent to create tasks, check assignments, and pull information from your Asana projects without ever leaving your conversation. Once integrated, you can manage your projects, action items, and team responsibilities using simple, natural language prompts.
Step 1: Generate Your Personal Access Token in Asana
Log into Asana. In the top-right corner of the screen, click on your account information and select "Settings" (the gear icon). From the Settings screen, click on "Apps," then click on "View Developer Console." You will see the Personal Access Token area. Click "Create a new token," give it a descriptive name, review and agree to the terms, and create the token.
Step 2: Copy Your Token
Once your token is created, copy it to your clipboard so you can paste it into Change Agent in the next step.
Step 3: Open Tools and Tool Settings in Change Agent
In Change Agent, hover over the wrench icon on the right-hand side of your screen and click it to open the Tools menu. Within Tools, click on Tool Settings to access your integration settings.
Step 4: Paste Your Token into Change Agent
In Tool Settings, locate the field labeled "Asana API token." Click "Default" and paste your copied token into the input area. Click "Save." You will see a confirmation message letting you know the settings have been updated successfully.
Step 5: Turn On the Asana Tool
Return to the Tools menu and find Asana. Click on Asana to toggle it on. The button will turn green when activated, and a small purple highlight will appear around the tool to confirm it is active. You can also type "Asana" into the search bar within the Tools menu and click the result to turn it on.
Step 6: Use Asana with Your Prompts
With the Asana tool toggled on, you can now create tasks or pull information using natural language. For example, you might attach a meeting note and prompt: "Create all of these action items in Asana under my [project name] project" Press Send. Once Change Agent completes the request, the tasks will appear in your Asana project, just as you requested. You can also ask Change Agent to read your Asana by prompting: "Check my Asana [project name] for tasks assigned to [person's name] and list them here."
